Combining the electron beam control technology of high-class electron microscopes with electron beam lithography technology suitable for most-demanding semiconductor manufacturing processes, JEOL has developed a powerful electron-beam additive manufacturing tool for fast, high-density metal manufacturing. It paves the way for additive metal manufacturing with high quality and excellent reproducibility. The unique design of the electron-optical column and vacuum system allows for both long lifetime of the emitter and low chamber pressures to strongly suppress oxygen pick-up.
The system can not only be run in industrial environments with ready-to-go powder recipes and an integrated monitoring system with remote / mobile control. With respect to more research-oriented applications, writing routines and process parameters can be easily changed and adapted to new material systems.
The JEOL EBAM system can be operated in an economical and environmental-friendly way without Helium, Argon or Nitrogen gas needed during the printing process.
